Abstract
Das UFO, die mobile Spielstätte der Deutschen Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg, entwickelt partizipative Formate, in denen sich Oper und Stadtgesellschaft auf der Bühne begegnen, und in der alle Mitwirkenden die Produktionen als Künstler*innen mitgestalten. Das hat eine gesellschaftspolitische Dimension. Denn die reale Mitgestaltung und Mitbestimmung möglichst Vieler stellen einen Ansatz dar, um der aktuellen Legitimationskrise zu begegnen, die die Institution Oper gleichermaßen wie die repräsentative Demokratie hierzulande betrifft.
The UFO, the mobile venue of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg, develops participatory formats in which opera and urban society meet on stage and in which all participants help to shape the productions as artists. This has a socio-political dimension. The real co-design and co-determination of as many people as possible is one approach to countering the current legitimisation crisis, which affects the institution of opera as well as representative democracy in this country.
